My name is Olivia. I can’t hold a sign because I’m so little.

I was born with club feet. One was so bad, it was nearly upside-down. My feet have been stretched into place and casted into position every week since I was 3 weeks old. It really hurts. I’m 3 and a half months old now, so I’ve done that a lot. It costs about $500 each time. (You can see one of my casts peeking out under my dress.)

On March 21, 2012 I had my first surgery, because the stretching wasn’t working. That cost nearly $9,000, but if my feet don’t get fixed, I’ll never be able to walk.

Medicaid is paying to fix my feet. My Daddy is a disabled veteran, but his insurance won’t cover my feet. My Mom is trying to raise my 3 brothers and I while she wracks up student loans getting her college degree, because minimum wage isn’t enough to keep a roof over our heads.

WIC is paying for my formula, because Mom’s milk never came in. She feels kinda bad about that, but sometimes these things just happen.

I hear that some people want to get rid of Medicaid, the Pell Grant, and WIC, so that the 1% can have even more tax breaks. Well, I want to be able to walk. I need to eat. And my Mom would like to be able to provide for me better someday. I don’t understand why people want to take that away from me. What did I do wrong?

Why would they claim him to their party is beyond me, but how hypocritical of them to claim faith while defiling all the values their God had set?

Jesus was against corporations:

“go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.”

Jesus wouldn’t have supported big corporations, tax cuts for big corporations, or anything that helps stuff their wallets even further. In case it isn’t clear enough, Jesus was a socialist.

Jesus was pro free healthcare:

“At sunset, the people brought to Jesus all who had various kinds of sickness, and laying his hands on each one, he healed them. Moreover, demons came out of many people, shouting, ‘You are the Son of God!’ But he rebuked them and would not allow them to speak, because they knew he was the Messiah” (Luke 4:40-41, NIV).

Jesus didn’t charge money for miracles, sure one could make the argument that Jesus didn’t need to make a living or use material to heal people, but I also doubt that he would’ve approved the turning of people’s illness and misfortune into an enriching industry, because when you can control people’s health, and yet you profit from their sickness, how true will you be?

Jesus was very tolerant:

” ¹Judge not, that ye be not judged.²For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.³And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?⁴Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?⁵Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.”

In other words, “If you’re not perfect shut the fuck up and accept people” on the other side of the spectrum, you have evangelists spewing poison about how atheists are baby eating satanists, how feminists are witchcraft-practicing lesbians, how gays are in a conspiracy to destroy marriage, how women on the pill are whores, how women who have an abortion (regardless of reason) are murderers who deserve to be blown up.

Jesus was not horny for war:

“You have heard it said, ‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.’ But I tell you not to resist an evil person. But whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also.”

Yes, doesn’t matter how much Republicans hate it, but Jesus is more likely to hang out with John Lennon and go on hippie protests, than to give Bush instructions as to which country should he attack next.

Jesus was against capital punishment:

yes, Jesus doesn’t think that some idiot from Texas has the right to decide exactly when and why does a person lose his privilege to live. The line could fluctuate from serial killer to adulterer.

Jesus would be against guns:

Oh yeah, Jesus wouldn’t be impressed with the shut gun under your pillow either.

And most important of all, Jesus would’ve respected the first amendment:

“Then Jesus said to them, ‘Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s.’”

This is beautiful, not only does Jesus tell these people to leave government run the state while religion run their lives and values, but the quote is his way of telling people to pay taxes! That goes for all the tea baggers out there: Jesus is highly disappointed by your greed and poor lingual skills.

So to conclude: before you vote remember why Jesus is loved by many, and even some atheists (yours truly included) think he’s a good role model: his love and compassion. Jesus didn’t hang out with rich fucks and encouraged the Romans to conquer more and restore its glory, he didn’t demand the people to rise and ask the Romans to stop the blatant homosexuality that ran deeply in their society, he simply told people to grow up.
Just remember, if there’s an atheist liberal running against an evangelist right wing nutcase, guess who’s a better representative of Jesus?

Now it is clear that the internet is the place where you can find the most radical sides to anything, and yet, somethings still leave you appalled and shocked to learn of their existence. I found a racist form called “White nationalist community” http://www.stormfront.org/forum/ I encourage everyone to read over a couple of their posts, they vary from saying that Zimmerman is a hero being criminalized, to how interracial marriage is destroying the superiority of the Aryan race.
